Anthurium (Flamingo Flower) — common problems

Find the symptom you're seeing for the likely cause and fix.

Brown leaf edges

Likely cause: Air too dry (common in centrally heated homes).

Fix: Raise humidity with a damp-gravel tray, misting, or moving to a bathroom.

No flowers / bud drop

Likely cause: Too little light; or lack of fertilizer, excess nitrogen, dry soil, overwatering, or cold-water spraying.

Fix: Give bright indirect light; feed appropriately; keep soil and watering consistent; avoid cold water.

Root rot (yellowing, mushy roots)

Likely cause: Overwatering — old and new leaves yellow together, browning leaf centers, mushy dark roots.

Fix: Reduce watering; use open, fast-draining acidic mix; remove rotted roots.
